About jgR
Fifty years in, still the newest thing
A brokerage old enough to have priced through six market cycles, and young enough that a third of our advisors joined in the last five years.
The practice
John Greene left a commercial appraisal desk in 1976 and opened one office on Washington Street in Naperville. The discipline he brought — that a price is an argument you should be able to defend line by line — is still the only thing every jgR advisor is required to do the same way.
Everything else has changed. We run an in-house marketing studio, a new-construction desk in Kendall County, a luxury portfolio practice out of Hinsdale, and a coaching program that meets weekly rather than annually.
We are not a legacy institution trading on a founding date. The fiftieth anniversary matters because it produced 50 years of closed records, and those records are what make a jgR valuation different from an estimate.

How we work
Three commitments, held to literally.
The number is defensible
Every list price comes with the comparable set and the adjustments that produced it.
The same advisor stays through close
The person who priced the home handles the inspection response and the appraisal.
Local means specific
We name streets, boundaries, and rail stops. If we can't be specific, we don't claim expertise.
